The Morning Leader states that the Cabinet has framed the offer of a conference of parties, and the offer has goue to Mr. Balfour, who is able to spend „ue week-end considering the reply. Other newspapers indicate that the let-] ter simply asks whether a conference is desirable. The Morning Leader states the Cabinet holds that the discussion should not be limited by any pledges or statements of policy on either side. BREAKING UP OF LARGE ESTATES. Received June 12, 9.11 p.m. London, June 11. In the House of Commons the Right Hon. A. Birrell, replying to Mr. Redmond, said the Government did not desire to interfere with the press for advocating the breaking up of land, hut cannot per- 1 mit the enforcement of such demands by illegal means.
