POLICE COURT.
At the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning a first was charged with drunkenness and a further offence. On one charge he was discharged, and on the other he was ordered to come up for sentence when culled upon. l'«r drunkenness, Thomas Brown was fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Norman Marshall was charged that at Awakino he obtained a cheque iby false pretences. Mr. .T. E. Wilson appeared for the. prosecution, and Mr. Johnstone for the defendant. After argument, the accused was discharged.
