OBITUARY.
SIR WILLIAM BUTLER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyrigh London, June 7. The death is announced of Sir William Butler, at Tipperary, of heart failure. [Sir William Francis Butler, who was 71 years of age, had a very distinguished career as a soldier. He joined the 09th Regiment in 1858, and saw much service in the East, in Canada, Aslmnti (under Sir Garnet Wolselev), Natal. Egypt and the Soudan, etc. He married, in 1877, Miss Thompson, painter of the well-known pictures "The Roll Call,'"' "Quatre Bras," "Defence of Rorke's Drift," etc.]
