The Jamaican Government, owing to financial buoyancy, is introducing into the Legislature a Bill for removing the Customs duty on condenser! milk, artisans' tools, water pumps, fencing iron, and roofing, and is reducing the duty on soap 50 per cent. At the Kaiser's instance, Brazil is sending officers for six and eight months' training to the German Army. The trial of Frau Schoenbeck has begun here. She is accused of murdering her husband at Christmas 1907. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. Berlin, June 7. During the Priilte Heitt'y "motor race in Upper Alsace the tyre of Franz Heine's car flew oft and the machine dashed into a trefe. Two of the occupants were killed and a third badly injured. A spectator was also badly injured. AN' APPEAL DISMISSED. London, June 7. The Privy Council has dismissed the Sydney appeal case, Hordern v. Hordern. arising out of a claim by S. and T. E. Hordern to a slinre in the business of Anthony Hordern and Sons. THE QUEEN MOTHER AND N.Z. London, June 7.
