A series of services by Mr. Hugh Paton, the well-known Scottish evangelist, were commenced in St. Andrew's
Church last Sunday. There were good attendances both morning and evening. Special services have been arranged for next Sunday in the Theatre Royal. At 3 p.m. Mr. Paton will address men only, and his Worship the Mayor will preside. White and Sons have another of the lists that have been appearing in the daily papers of late, detailing some of their special winter lines. Chief among these are a number of ladies and girls' coats in tweed and rainproof materials that are of more than ordinary merit, having been secured at big discounts off the regular rates. The household lines quoted also show to great advantage in view of the sharp rise that has since taken place in the price of cotton. Altogether a very attractive list is presented.—Advt.
