The rebuilding sale at the Melbourne Clothing Company is attracting crowds of shoppers, who are joyous and hapny in possession of unprecedented bargains purchased. One of the most interesting of many interesting exhibits at the winter show will be made by the Caincrated Concrete Company of Taranaki, Limited, showing the various styles that can be adapted in this method. An attendant will be there to explain matters relating to camera ted concrete to those interested.

A meeting of the ladies' committee of the Anniversary Day celebrations and others willing to assist are invited to meet at the Council Chambers this afternoon at 3 o'clock. One of the first actions of the Fisk Jubilee Singers upon arrival in town yesterday was to visit the. British and Continental Piano Company and to arrange for a Bechstein piano for the concert.

A series of services by Mr. Hugh Paton, the well-known Scottish evangelist, were commenced in St. Andrew's

Church last Sunday. There were good attendances both morning and evening. Special services have been arranged for next Sunday in the Theatre Royal. At 3 p.m. Mr. Paton will address men only, and his Worship the Mayor will preside. White and Sons have another of the lists that have been appearing in the daily papers of late, detailing some of their special winter lines. Chief among these are a number of ladies and girls' coats in tweed and rainproof materials that are of more than ordinary merit, having been secured at big discounts off the regular rates. The household lines quoted also show to great advantage in view of the sharp rise that has since taken place in the price of cotton. Altogether a very attractive list is presented.—Advt.
