Association on Saturday it was decided to admit as members, at a subscription of 7s (kl, .persons under twenty years of age. The membership roll of the Stratford A. and P. Association continues to increase, and there is not the slightest doubt that when the Show is held the Association, from a numerican standpoint, will be able to well hold its own with neighboring institutions. Mr. J. Masters has been added to the committee of the Stratford A. and P. | Association,
At the Stratford Rifle Club's competition on Thursday, Rifleman W. Rogers headed the list of competitors for the second .stage of the Watson Cup and for Hallenstein Bros.' trophy. The rain of Saturday and yesterday must have caused many of the residents of Stratford to reflect on the necessity of lilter beds at the head works of the water supply. It seems that coincidence fated that the members of the Council i should have visited the intake durmg I iSie week to consider the solution of the problem. Whatever scheme may ne suggested, the public who use tlie water will be united in their wish: "Oh, let it be soon."
Constable Beasley, of the local police force, is on holiday leave. Mr. V. A. Warner, of Toko, who has been ill for some months past, was admitted to the local hospital on Saturday. It is remarkable that at this time of the year there should be so little snow on Mount Egmont. This accounts for the warm weather of the past few days, which Ims been more like spring than winter.
