Judging by the excellent rehearsals, all those who visit St. Mary's Hall on Monday evening next are guaranteed an evening's amusement aibove the ordinary. When we mention that among those taking part in the debate at the Women's Parliament that evening are Mrs. C. H. Weston, Misses Fitzherbert (2), Carte, Devenish, and Bedford, further comment is unnecessary. The musical portion of the programme appears in this issue. The Liedertafel's next concert is to lie given in the Theatre Royal on the 22nd instant. The weekly practices are being very well attended,, and good work is heing done. Carpenters were busy all day yesterday at the Drill Hall, with the result that the accommodation for several of the tradesmen's and other exhibits is now well under way. Members of the Various local seaside committees would do well' to follow the advice to ibe given on Monday evening next in St. Marys Half by the Minister of Internal Affairs with regard to an extra Inspector of. Bathing Attires. The same Minister has an important announcement to make bearing on the lately-formed local operatic society.
The rebuilding sale at the Melbourne Clothing Co. is attracting crowds of shoppers who are joyous and happy in ■possession of unprecedented bargains purchased. Big bargains will continue the order of the sale, as the whole of the large stock must be reduced to make room for carpenters, bricklayers and other workmen who want possession of the nremises.—Advt.
