STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Special Correspondent). Stratford, Last Night. To-day has .been quiet. The majority of the establishments which kept open wondered -why they hail not shut. For all the business done this might have happened. Some time ago the Borough Council approached the Railway Department, asking it to open up another ticket oltice window on holidays. The customary fate met this request—"duo consideration." Nothing has been cone, and the same old ni«h ensues. This morning the mail train was late; it would have made no difference had it been up to tiivA'. far it wouV. h-'.vc had to ■wait until su«h time as the passengers had secured tickets. There was a rush on the 'booking office, and a lengthy procession of passengers awaited their turn at the window. Possibly the Chamber of Commerce wftl be able to accelerate the Department. Stratford was invaded by the Territorials to-day, and manoeuvres were held in the vicinity of tire town, Lieut.-C'olonel W. G. Malone being in command. The match between the Stratford and Inglewood ladies' hockey teams was played to-day. the home team winning by the substantial margin of 7 goals to nil. Goats were scored bv Misses Brayshaw- (3).
