HAMILTON -MAXWELL DRAMATIC €O. A TALENTED COMBINATION. With one or two exceptions, the members of the Allan Hamilton-Mux Maxwell Dramatic. Co., which will occupy the Theatre, i'.oyal on Monday evening next, are all Au-'ir.tia-mns by oirth. It is interesting' to note al-o 'that though still young i» years mo*t of them have had considerable and varied stage, experience. Max Maxwell, for instance, has been with the Bland Holt Company for eleven years, and it is noteworthy that his first chance as leading man occurred in the piece •'Revenge," in which he appeared in Bendigo. This -happened through the indisposition of Mr. Walter Bakei" then leading man, and Mr. Maxwell was required"to .play the part at short notice, onlv twelve hours elapsing between the time he received it, and made a successful appearance. Since then he has remained as Bland Holt's leading man till the disbanding of the company, when 'he entered into his present ownership with Mr. Allan Hamilton securing from Mr. Holt some 01 n.-s best known .pieces. Many of the principals of the Holt Company decided to accept engagements from the new firm, and with the inclusion of several of Mr. Hamilton's artists now forms perhaps the strongest combination ever been formed in Australia. On Monday evening they will appear in that soul-stirring military drama, "Revenue." by arrangement with Bland Holt. Reserved seats may now be secured at Collier's. The company concludes a. successful Auckland season this evening and reaches New Plymouth by the Rarawa on Monday. Messrs. H. Collier and Co. have received advice from the management of Madame Teresa Carreno to the effect that Madame will give one piano recital at the Theatre Royal at a date to be arranged.
