PETROLEUM NEWS.

The Taranaki Petroleum Coornpany have won a hundred barrels of oil for the week, aggregating 4200 gallons. So. 2 bore is down to adepth of 3030 feet, and the casing is within twelve feet of the bottom. During this week eighty barrels of oil have been secured from No. 2 bore, and from Nos. 1 and 3 ton barrels each. The manager reported yesterday that No. 3 bore flowed very strongly at 10-30 p.m., five barrels of oil being obtained. There was n powerful pressure of gas. The oil is (lowing freely from No. 2 bore, and gas is at present in considerable volume. In regard to the negotiations to acquire an option over the company's property, the directors propose shortly to lay the position fully before theshareholders by circular.
