SUICIDE CASES.
SE.VSATIOX AT THAMES. ; By Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, Yesterday. A sensation was caused this mornmg. when it became known that Horace P. fluddle.stouc, about forty, one time secretary of the Auckland Stock Exchange, who has been on the Thames for tome time, had committed suicide. Huddlestone was residing at McLeahy'* boarding house. He did not appear at breakfast. About 10 o'clock a shot was heard, and a heavy fall. His door, which was locked, wa.s broken open, and Huddles'tone was found lying on the Uoor in his pyjamas, shot through the heart. He had held the revolver close to his body, for his pyjamas were burnt. The police were sent for, but Huddlestone was dead before they arrived. It is believed that deceased was ttt one time worth a considerable sum, but latterly had fallen on hard times. He was an inmate of the hospital some time .back. He leaves a wife and onechild.. A FEILDING CASE. Feilding, Yesterday. At the inquest on the body of Robert Carswell this morning the evidence showed that deceased was employed by the Wellington Harbor Board. Owing to ill-health he came here for rest, and while in a bedroom by himself he apparently stood in front of a looking glass and cut his throat with a razor. He had been suffering from delusions. A verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. He came to 2Cew Zealand from Scotland two year*! ago.
