(young) l,s lOd to 2s 3d, ipullets (young) Is lw io 2s o<i, do (good forward) 3s uU to (is, trio white Leghorns 17s, cocKerels Is lOd to 2s Sd, hiack Orpingtons 3s (id to 4s t)d, p.b. black Orpington 12s lid. ducks (young) la lOd to 2s lid), tat drakes 2s to 3s, laying ducks 3s 7d. Meat.—The usual amount came forward, and being of exceptional quality met with a good sale, and prices slightly advanced. Ribs 2%d to 3u, prime 3'/,u to 4d, rounds 3y 3 d to 4y 2 d, roasts 2d "to 3d, sirloin 4d to 4y>d, rump 3d to 3'/ 2 U, fore-quarters mutton 2y 3 d to legs 4d to 4y a d, loins 3d to 4d.
Furniture.—On Thursday we held a clearing sale at Inglewood on account of Rev. P. Carew-Thomas. There was a large attendance, and the furniture beof good quality made satisiactory raxes.
Timber sale.—On iSaturday we sold the second-ctass timber on the section lately occupied by Messrs Jenkinson. Satisfactory prices were realised. Fruit.—.bruit has :been in small supply for the week. Apples (dessert) 7s to 8s tkl, seconds 5s to 6s, cookers 5s to lis 9d, pears (201b Vicars) 2s lid to 3s, lemons (Sydney) Bs, passions !)s (id, oranges (re-packs) Bs, Tongan bananas (green) 8s to 8s (id, ripe 2y 4 d per lb.
L, A NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—On Saturday we had an extra large entry. Prices throughout were higher than the previous week, the demand being much better. We quote:— Hens (ordinary) Is 7d to 2s Id, lat Is !)d to 2s 7d, pullets up to 3s lOd, cockerels Is !)d to 2s Bd, ducks (fat) up to 4s 5d each, Muscovy ducks lis each, turkey hens 3s Gd each, roosters (ordinary) Is Cd to 2s 3d, purebreds to 4s 3d.
In the mart a large catalogue of furniture sold well.
Fruit—Large consignments of apples and Island fruits have come to hand and sold well. We quote:—Apples (dessert, choice) 7s to 10s lid, good os to 7s 3d, cookers 4s Dd to 5s 6d per 'bushel case; bananas (green, iair order) 7s to !)d a ca.se, walnuts 7d per lb, pears (dessert, choice) 6s to 8s Gd, cookers 3s 9d to 5s 6d per case, quinces (half-cases) 2s 6d, Mildura lemons lis per bushel case, pie melons and pumpkins 4s 6d per cwt., passions Bs>, pineapples,!)s, peanuts 2y 3 d per lb.
NEW PLYMOUTH RETAIL PRICES. Butchers' Meat. Beef: Sirloin 6d, prime ribs sd, rump steak Bd, beef from 3d to 4d, corned beef from 3d to 5a per lb.. Mutton: Legs 6d, chops 6d, loin 6d, shoulders sd, necks' 4d per lb. Pork: Fresh, 6d per lb. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages, beef 4d, pork 6d, Lamb, 4s to 5s a quarter. Fowls, 5s per pair, ducks 6s per pair. These prices are for cash only; y 2 d per lb for booking over one week.
