. CELEBRATIONS AT HOME AND ELSEWHERE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received May 25, 10 p.m. London, May 25. Empire Day was celebrated quietly. Addresses were given in the schools, and Lord Roberts- and many others watched the Imperial cadets competing at the Stock Exchange Rifle Club's ranges, at Aldgate. A holiday was observed throughout Canada. A monument to South African heroes was unveiled at Toronto, whilst a monument to Queen Victoria was unveiled at Gibraltar.
