FEMALE BOOT OPERATIVES.
TROUBLE AVERTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The threatened trouble in the boot trade has passed, apparently, as the manufacturers report that all girls (with the exception of some who previously intimated their intention of leaving the trade) have resumed work this morning. Mr. Whiting, secretary of the New Zealand Federated Boot Trades' Union, states that the executive will probably take legal advice on the matter.
