TWO SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITIONS
WESTERN AUSTRALIA CHOSEN. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Received May 18, 8.30 p.m. Fremantle, May 18. Advices by the English mail from Cambridge state that an ethnological expedition arrives in Western Australia next month under the leadership of Professor Brown, entomologist, and Mr. Grant Watson, geologist. Western Australia is chosen as the scene of operations, as it is the least known part oi the Continent. A second expedition to be sent by the Stockholm Academy of Science, underj Dr. Majolberg, arrives in July. Dr. Majoberg spends two years in the KimberIdy district, his object being to solve animal and geographical questions and to ascertain to what extent immigration has taken place from the Malay Islands and its influence on the flora and fauna.
