WELLINGTON SESSIONS.

In the Supreme Court tihis morning Martin Tier, on various charges of breaking and entering, was sentenced by the Chief Justice to two yeans' imprisonment with hard labor. Henry Smith, who was found on premises without lawful excuse, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment. The case against Davis and Haines, charged witih arson at Wanganui, is being reheard to-day.
BREACH OF PROMISE. Dunedin, Monday. The breach of promise action, Agnes C'otterill v. Albert Edie, of Edievale, farmer, a claim for €750, lias been settled out of Court. It is understood that plaintiff received £2OO.
FQRGTNC, AND UTTERING. Napier, Monday. Before Mr. S. E. McCarthy, S.M., today, Eric Oscar Fairev pleaded guilty to forging the name of W. J. Tennant to a cheque for £lO, drawn on the Bank of Australasia, and uttered to Louis Edser. He was committed to Wellington for sentence. The same accused pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining goods and money value £3 Is !)d from Kirkcaldie and Stains by means of a valueless ciheque on the Union Blank of Australia, Habart. He was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
DUCO INSURANCE CASE. Wellington, Last Night. The hearing of the Duco insurance case was continued in the Supreme Court to-day. It is expected that evidence will l)e finished to-morrow.
