The barque Marjorie Oaig, which axrived from Hotert on Sunday, is fully laden, drawing almost her maximum of
water. She had a very rough tri>p across, unfavorable winds being encountered, and her passage of 23 days undey the conditions prevailing is a very good one. Her cargo consists of "278 piles aiid 42,000 feet of other hardwood for wharf construction. Unloading operations have mot yet commenced, but everything is being prepared to allowed of discharge as early as possible. Captain Newton's skill in sailing the vessel up to her berth without any steam assistance and with a sou'-westerly wind blowing was a very creditable feat of seamanship. THE RAKAWA. The Rarawa, brought 100 tons of cargo fi*om Onehunga yesterday morning, including 5'4 tons of cement, 10 tons of flour, 5 tons of sugar, G tons o.f manure, and aboiit GO cases of. fruit. She sailed as usual forOnehiivnga last night, taking besides her general cargo four racehorses. THE KOONYA.
The Koonya is due 'here this morning from South Island ports and Wellington. She will Ihave about 450 tons of cargo to disoliarge here. THE Rim The Rimu, which arrived- from Wanganui on- Sunday, wias to have left for Kawhia and One'hunga at 4 o'clock this morning. Opunake was unworkable, and although the vessel had about 70 tons of cargo to land there it had to be carried on.
THE CORINNA. The Corinna is expected to arrive from Onehunga this morning to load about 1000 boxes to batter for transhipment to Home liners at Wellington. At Onehunga she loaded about 1200 boxes. While tilie Corinna was bertihing 'here on Saturday ■she lost an anchor and about eight fathoms of cable. The Harbor Board's tug was engaged yesterday in searching; for the missing gear and were •ultimately successful, locating it during the afternoon.
The coastal steamer Tainui, which is sheltering at the breakwater owing to being unable to wank Vvaitora, is understood to ibe loaded with coiai from Mokau. It has been stated that this coal is for New Plymouth, but that it will be cheaper to discharge the coal at Waitara and nail it to New Plymouth than to discharge it at the breakwater and rail it to town. The Rotoiti, which, with the Takiaipuna and Rarawa maintained the daily service from New Plymouth to Onehunga and a bi-weekly service from Wellington, is to be irecommissroned and sent to Tasmania to enter one of the Union Companys' services between Australia and Tasmania.
