EG .MOM IUCIXG CLUB. WINTER MEETING SECOND DAY. The Egmont Racing Club was again fortunate yesterday in the matter 01 weather for the second day's racing of the winter meeting. The course was on the heavy side, but still good. There was a large attendance, and the ftelds throughout were large. The starting of Mr. O'Connor was the subject of the wannest commendation on all hands, -nd the secretarial management was all that couiu be wished. There were only two "incidents" in the day. The rider of Reumac was carpeted for not, in the, opinion of the stewards, galloping his mount as fast as he ought, and C Jenkins had to answer the charge of C. Pearce that he struck him with h's wiuo in the last race. The to - .a..sator investments were £5494, and ':he amount put through for the meeting was £10,470, an increase of £of>o upon the amount handled last year. The Man ..in Brass Band again rendered a piogramme of enjoyable music. The deti-3 of the racing are as follow: — ■MANAWAPOU HANDICAP HURDLES, of 80 sovs'; second horse 10 sovs ironi the stakes.
