(From Our Own Correspondent.) At the Magistrate's Court, before Messrs. G. H. Stubbs and W. F. Newbery, J.P.'s, the following cases were disposed of:— Town Clerk v. Charles Wooding, for driving sheep through prohibited streets, fined 2s Gel and 20s~Gil costs. Police v. Ware Mata, for furious riding. Defendant pleaded guilty and was fined os and costs Ills, in default seven days' imprisonment. Police v. John Wilson, for riding a bicycle on the footpath. Defendant pleaded guilty and was fined 5s and costs 7s. iPolice v. E. A. Dugdale, for riding a bicycle on the footpath fined 5s and costs 7s. Charles Handlev v. ft. W. Bond, claim £3. Mr. Hutchens for plaintiff. The clerk stated that a cheque had been received for the amount, but he was not empowered to receive cheques. Judgment for amount, with costs 235. W. P. iSnell v. George Coventry, claim 24s Gd. Mr. Stead for plaintiff.' Judgment for amount, with costs 455. W. P. Snell v. Athol Fairs, claim 19s 6d. Judgment for amount with costs ss. W. P. Snell v. Kahau, claim of' £3 15s 3d. Judgment for amount with costs ss. A. T. Lake v. John Adams, claim 18s 6d. Judgment for amount with costs os. A. T. Lake v. John Hards taff, claim 12s. Judgment for amount with costs 19s. H. X. Cossar v. John Adams, claim 7s 6d. Judgment for amount with costs ss. H. N. Cossar v. Howard Smith, claim 18s 3d. Judgment for amount with costs OS.
A. Klenner v. Charles Stone, claim 12s Gd. Mr. Townsend for plaintiff. Judgment for amount with costs ss. Emily Stewart v. L. J. Beck, claim £4 12s Gd. Judgment was given for £2 12s Gd with costs 6s. S. Asliton v. R. Scott, claim £5 9s. The case had been struck out, and defendant claimed his expenses, notice of discontinuance not having reached him in time, and he had travelled 54 miles. The Bench granted him £3 12s fid. There was a record attendance at the Ivy Assembly on Wednesday evening in aid of the band funds. The ladies' first prize, donated by Mr. TL N. Cossar, was won by Mrs. Lonei'san.- and the second bv Mrs. Black. The gentlemen's first prize, donated by Mr. E. Gribbon, was won by Mr. A. Drake, and the second bv Mr. E. Waters. The music was supplied by the orchestra, and the catering by Mr.' Jeffries.
