Smith, of the Public Trust Office, New Plymouth, was married to Miss Marian Alice Messenger, youngest daughter of Colonel Messenger, of New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J, Wilkinson.

At a meeting of the City Council last night (says an Jnvereargill wire) Mr. Scott Symington, at .present engineer to the Ohristehurch. Tramway Board/ was appointed electrical engineer and manager for Tnvercargill tramways at a salary of £IOOO a year for three years. Mr Symington was selected from among .seventeen applicants.
