The Daily Mail's Ottawa correspondiit states that reciprocity negotiations are impossible before October. Mr. Cains, president of the Montreal Board of Trade, states that Canada wants to be left alone to work out her own commercial destiny. When reciprocity would have been useful Washington turned a deaf ear to all representations The Canadians now desired to avoid tariff complications with the United States.
