HEWITT PICTURES. A change of programme at the Hewitt popular picture entertainments always attracts a good audience, and last night was no exception. The set opened with a fine film of life and scenery in Bankok, showing the interesting customs of the quaint folk of that dountry. "A Bad Companion" is a picture illustrating how domestic happiness may he ruined by bad associations. "Buckwheat in Brittany" gives a splendid idea of how that crop of grain te sewn, harvested, and made ready for sale, also how the meal is made into buckwheat cakes. "Bobby on the Spree," "Mr. Feary," "Burglary Up to Date," and "Buying a Title" provide the comic element. An educational subject of merit is Ithat depicting "Pheasant Rearing and Farming." A scenic picture "Jn Russia" takes the audience over some highly interesting country. A film that found favor is a drama entitled "A Football Warrior." This shows Ithe game in progress and also illustrates how foul play can be introduced into the game with disastrous results. The programme provides an excellent entertainment. It will be repeated to-night.
