THE LABOR PARTY.
By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Wednesday. From all account* matters in connection with the organisation of the Independent Labor Party formed last year are in a very forward state. Fired with the success of the uiborites in the Commonwealth, the leaders of the local movement are feeling very sanguine. Sir. D. ..MeLiren, .M.P., has lieen doing a lot of organising work throughout the Dominion, and through his ell'arts the Federation of l«\bor has been formed, and it is claimed that this federation will prove a very powerful factor in Xew Zealand politics within a very short time. It was stated to-day liy a wellknown official of the party that things are at present on the eve of a big development, which will become public at no distant date. As it is. considerable organising work is <minit 011. especially in this city, some of the organisers addressing no less than three meetings n night, all behind closed doors. It is also stated that the partv is amassing a large campaign fund. Support is coming from the most sources. It is stated that oiler- have been received from live members of the Government Partv in ilie llou-e to stand as Labor candidates at the next election, and that prior to the next inil 1 - live prominent members of the Australian Labor Party will come over and help in organising' and electioneering work. Tt is understood that certain proposals are to be made to Mr. \Y. F. Massey (Leader of the Opposition),, and in the event of their acceptance the Labor organisation and vote will be given to the 'Reform Partv in every constiluencv which is contested in the'country.
