WAIHI GOLD MINE

A WELLINGTON RESOLUTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Wellington, Monday. The Wellington Stock Exchange passed the following resolution after the 10 a.m. call to-day:—"That this Exchange is of the opinion that it is essential that the attorney of the Waihi Company should 'be asked to make an ofllcial statement as to the present state of affairs at the Waihi mine, and that the chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange be asked to act in the matter."

COMMITTEE • APPOINTED. TRANSFER BOOKS TO BE EX,AMINED. Auckland, Monday. The Stock Exchange has passed a resolution appointing a committee with power to employ a solicitor and examine the transfer books of the Waihi Company to ascertain who has disposed of shares in the past three months, also to write asking the attorney of the company if he can give any explanation of the sudden drop in shares.
