MOST OF HIS ENGAGEMENTS POSTPONED. DOCTOR ORDERS COMPLETE REST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. His Excellency the Governor went to Tokaanu on 22nd April, intending to have a few days' fishing and rest during his final tour of the Dominion, having been travelling most of the time since Lady Plunket's departure. Two days after his arrival the Governor contracted a severe chill, and, although there have been no serious developments and he is now slightly better, his medical man advises a complete rest for at least a week. His Excellency is consequently obliged to cancel all engagements in the near future, and to abandon his intended tour to Rotorua, Te Puke, Tauranga, K'atikati, Wailii, Paeron, Te Aroha, and Hamilton. The Governor wishes it to he known that it is with very great regret he is unable to fulfil his engagements and have an opportunity of bidding farewell to the people in the places mentioned, but the doctors leave no alternative. His Excellency hopes to be mile to carry out his Masonic engagement at Wellington on 11th and 12th May, and afterwards to tour the West Coast of the North Island as arranged.
