He was admitted to the hospital in a precarious condition, and made a rambling statement complaining of the hardship of life and the unequal distribution of wealth. THE WARATAH. A FEARFUL EXPERIENCE. Melbourne, May 2. A farmer named Pattinson, while feeding a chaffcutter, had his arm caught in the machinery. His head was drawn against the driving belt, which cut uis throat so seriously that he died of the effects. A DOMESTIC TRAGEDY. Adelaide, May 2. A couple named Pibersch were found dead at their home. The husband, whose lim'bs were .paralysed, left a letter stating that his wife shot herself and that he intended to take poison and shoot himself. ANOTHER CASE OF SMALLPOX. PERTH, May 2. When the steamer Nevarra. arrived a*- Bunbiiry it was found that an engincr named Pike was suffering from smallpox.
