SPEECH BY SIR GEORGE REID. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, May I. Speaking at the British Academy banquet, the Pria.-e of Wales emphasised the pleasure wherewith he was looking forward to hif- South African visit. Admiral Sir Edward Seymour and General Sir Evelyn Wood responded on behalf of the defence services, and Viscount Morley for the Government. Sir G. H. Reid, in proposing '* Success to the Academy,emphasised tne generous Imperialism of the Academy. It was not, he sai.l, fully understood that the schools were open gratuitously t.« Australians and Canadians as freely a* to the Britm. H<> hoped that some day an Academy of Industrial Arts would be established as a supplement to that of fine arts. He concluded with a reference to Australians' profound and affectionate admiration for the King's illustrious reign. No mortal had ever made prouder use of the sceptre, yet he had established an even wider sway because he was the uncrowned king oi peace and goodwill to all nations.
