THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast:—Strong westerly winds have prevailed about and south of Cook Strait, with rain and floods in the rivers on the west coast. Fair weather prevailed in the North, but was changeable elsewhere. The 'barometer has continued high in the North, but has been unsteady and lower in the South. The present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere, moderate to strong easterly winds northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and fair weather but freshening northerlies and increasing cloudiness for more unsettled weather elsewhere.
