HOCKEY.
SEASON OPENED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The hockey season was formally opened yesterday with sports mid seven-a-side tournaments (ladies and men). There was a large attendance of the public and players,' over 500 of the latter taking .part. The men's seven-a-side tournament was won by the University.
