The Australian na.val draft have arrived, and the men are proceeding to Portsmouth to commence torpedo training, gunnery, and signalling classes immediately. Engineer-Lieutenants Robertson and Barnes have joined the class to learn the "oil fuel course." 9 The .passengers aboard the steamer Otranto showed great interest in the naval draft, and raised a subscription of £132 to purchase two shields for the annual gunnery and torpedo competitions under service conditions.
