Recently a meeting was held in London to protest against tile exportation of worn-out horses to tlie Continent. It was stated by the Duke of Portland that no fewer than 50,000 aged and brokendown animals were sent abroad annually. There is a 'proposal for the establishment of farms for valuable fur-bearing animals in Canada.
