As the result of divorce proceedings, an English woman named Mrs. Hawkes secured custody of her two children in England in 1004. From the date of the trial the hu.sband and children disappeared. The mother remained in ignorance of their whereabouts till a few weeks ago, when she learned in West Australia that a Mrs. Hawkes had arrived by the mail iboat this week. The legal machinerv was -put in motion to establish her claims.and the mother met her children to-day for the first time for six years.
