AUSTRALIAN BUTTER
MUST BE GRADED. , By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received April 20, 11.30 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. Mr. Loekyer, Assistant-Comptroller of Customs, has furnished a report on the Federal Government's supervision of the butter export trade. The kernel of the report is a straight-out demand for compulsory grading. Mr. Loekyer declares it is impossible to raise tile Australian butter industry to a high level without it. He suggests that it is probable, with increased perfection of grading, a greater quantity of butter would be marketed in Australia. The report also recommends Federal supervision in factories-and a charge of one farthing a box for grading.
