Spenee waited upon the Board with regard to the application of Medcalf and Wray to exchange sections 10 and 11, block 4, Ngatimaru, with G. C, Cooper for section 9, block 11, Ngatimaru, which was refused by the Board on the 21st December, 1909.—The Board saw no reason to alter its former decision in the matter.

THE FREEHOLD. The Board granted the applications of A. Coxhead to convert sections 5 and 6, .block 14, and section 22, block 13, Pouatu. to freehold, and of Roy and Nicholson (on behalf of B. Gopperth) in respect of sections 22, 23 and 24, block .7, Egmont. On the applications of C. H. Hope (section 2, block 14, Ohura) and M. Williams (section 9, 'block 5, Ohura), Mr. E. Tohne was appointed appraiser for the purpose of valuation of land. LEASES TO ISSUE.

The following improved farm settlers japplied for their leases to issue:—W. R. .Thomas, section 5, block 16, Aria; J. Hegglin, section 3, block 9, Totoro; T. E. Leach, section 4, block 12, Aria.— Leases to issue accordingly.

RANGERS' INSPECTION REPORTS. H. T. Twiss reported on the inspection of 31 holdings of a total area of 14.2G5 acres, improvements effected £17,316, improvements required £99IL —Resolved, that notice be sent to all who have not complied with requirements. E. Tohne reported on inspection of three holdings of a total area of 901 acres; improvements effected £44G, required £42l.—Adopted. SELECTORS IN DEFAULT. A schedule of selectors in arrear with their instalments of rent was laid on the table, and the Commissioner informed the Board of the action he had taken in the matter. The decisions are as follow: — J. C. Harre, sections 6 and 7, block 11, Pouatu, deficient improvementsImprovements must be brought up to date, otherwise the section will be declared forfeited. H. T. Joll, sections 15 to 31, blocks 8 and 9, Mimi Ranger to report upon improvements effected. W. Heinvood, section 4, block 9, Upper Waitara,—lmprovements must be brought up to date in six months, or the section will be forfeited. R. N. Wilson, section 7, block 2, Pouatu.—To be notified of deficient improvements. E. S. Von Stunner, section 5, block 3, Waro, non-residence. —Resolved ttajt the selector be notified that he must reside forthwith. Gaustad Bros., section 44, block 11, Waitara.—Resolved to obtain declaration as to residence. W. H. King, section 9, block 11, Omona'.—Referred to ranger for report. F. E. H. King, section 1, block 8, Omona, and S. W. King, section 4, block 7, Omona.—Ranger's report to be obtained. A. <E. E. Belcher, section 5, block 15, Upper Waitara, non-residence.—Section \ to be declared forfeited. E. Harden, section 9, block 14, Mahoe, non-residence.—Resolved that the Board has no intention to waive the residential conditions, but will deal with the matter when the residence becomes due. F. A. Harrison, section 20, block 5, Ohura, non-residence. Mr. Harrison waited on the Board and asked for six months' extension.—The selector must be residing in a bona fide manner on or before the 15th August next, otherwise his interest will be forfeited. GENERAL. Local bodies' proposals for the expenditure of accrued thirds were approved, subject to the ranger's report being favorable—Hawera County Council £32

Tangitu improved farm settlements, and submitted a list of defaulters in the former settlement.—Resolved, that the sections of an those who are either not on their land or on the road works in connection therewith be forfeited. R. Wiggs' application for a reduction in the price of section 8, block 1, Tangitu, was refused. Mr. Twiss, ranger, reported upon sections 7 and .8, block 13, Waro, proposed at one time to be set aside as a forest reserve.—No action taken. Mr. Twiss' report on the proposals of the Stratford County O::ueil for the expenditure of thin!;, accrued from sections 1 and 7, ':•'.-.>*■& 8, Huiroa, was referred back to him for further information. The same ranger, reported on sections 43 and 46, Huiakama Village.—The report was adopted. The land and buildings will be offered for sale, subject to verification of the position of the buildings. E. Tolmc, Crown lands ranger, reported on the proposals of the Waitomo County Council for expenditure of thirds, £391 : 12s Id.—Resolved, that the ranger's report be adopted. Welsh and Ryan, solicitors, applied for reconsideration of transfer of sections Ifi aatd 17. block 3, Opunake, from M. CarrolJ to D.'R. W. and E. T. Wright. —The Board saw no reason to alter its previous decision.

The Under-Secretary for Lands wrote | approving of the suggestion to grant j the Waima te West County Council a' leasts of sections in blocks 5 and 9, Majjaia. town.snip, and it was decided to grant a pastoral lease upon the terms agreed upon. Application was made by E. H. Gibson to purchase for cash section 3, block , 7, Waitara, containing 3 acres 1 rood, and the matter was referred to the, ranger for his report. The Under-Secretary wrote irl c6b> nection Avith section 14, block 12, Aria, when it was. resolved to authorise the i Comnusnonyr to ascertain the exact position of the matter. A. L. Morey forwarded a declaration re l?st license of section 36, block 11, Opunake. and applied for a new one to issue.—Approved. The question of valuation 'for improvements on section 2, block 1, Pipiotea West, was considered.—Resolved, Mat all moneys due to the Crown be deducted from the amount, and that the disposal of the balance be held over, pending satisfactory sworn evidence of the claims of the ipersons entitled to the money.
