Butter market quiet, Continental supplies increasing, buyers of butter holding back, expecting prices to be lower. The average price for the week of choicest New Zealand butter is 1225, Australian USs, 'Argentine ll'Js, Danis'h 1255, Siberian 120s. Cheese market slightly weaker, with less demand. The average price of New Zealand finest white cheese is Cls, colored <sos. Hempl market firmer. Prices on spot: New Zealand good fair £24 15sj fair, £23 17s; Manila, fair current, £26; forward shipment New Zealand, 5s leas than spot, Manila £24. The week's output of hemp from Manila is 2390 bales.

Wool market .remains firm; fine cross>brals and merinos in great demand; coarse crossbreds weaker. The arrivals of River Plate mutton and lamb at United Kingdom ports during March were:—Liverpool, mutton 41,078 carcases, lamb 5797 carcases; London, 31,537 and 17,404; Hull, 8992 .and 1043; Southampton, 10,800 and 3373; Cardiff 0000 and 500; Newcastle 20,740 and 1350; total 169,747 carcase* of mutton and 20,533 of lamb. The arrival of Argentine butter at all ports amounted to 13,645 cvvt. ' DALUETY AND CO., LTD. Messrs. DaJgety and Company, Ltd.,! Wellington, report having received the] following cable message from their London house under date of the 14th instant: — Frozen Mutton.—The demand has been severely checked by the increased price asked. Prices are from %d to %d easier, and we expect that if any change in prices takes place it will be! in favor of buyer s. Frozen Lamb.—There is only a poor! demand, with prices from %d to %di lower.

Frozen Beef.—The demand is fair, with prices s'omewhat in buyers' favor.

Tallow.—Prices are from 3d to 6d higher.
