NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. jAt the liaymarket on Saturday a fair number of pigs were penned and sold at the following prices:—Slips 3s Od to os, weanen, fis to 8s od, stores 12s Od to 16s Gd, porkers 26s Gd, sow 25s 6d.

At Rahotu on Tuesday mixed weaners made IGs Gd to 28s, weaner heifers 355, 18-montlis steers £2 17s, store cows £"2 7s to £2 13s Gd, forward cows £3 lis to £3 19s, bulls £4. lanvbs 8s lid. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a large yarding of cattle and a good attendance of buyers. Bidding, was brisk for all lines except weaners, which were Tather a poor class. Messrs Matthews and Bennett report that there was a fair entry of cattle at their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Bidding was good, and nearly everything sold at the following prices: ; Calves £1 Is to £1 10s, empty heifers . £3 5s to £3 12s, store cows (backward) j £1 15s to £2 10s, forward "do. £2 los I to £3 16s Gd, springers £4 10s to £(!, | -hill's £3 to £4 4s, f.m. ewes 6s 3d to 9s, cull ewes 3s Gd, cull lambs 4s 3d, good lambs 9s 2d. At Tarata on Monday there was a fair yarding. and nearly everything was sold a.s follows: —12 to 15-months steers £•2 12s Gd. store cows £3 Is to £3 os, f.m. ewes 9s Gd to 10s 2d. WOODVILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., ' report as follows: —At Woodville, on Mondav, we had a good yarding of both sheep and, cattle, the latter comprising mostly weaners, which sold_ well. We made a clearance of everything yarded, at good values. At Paliiatua, on Tues day, we yarded over 4000 sheep, a large number of which were weiners for which we had strong competitionAll classes of sheep met a {rood sale, and 'we cleared the whole yarding, with the exception of one pen of aged ewes. 1 Cattle were yarded up to advertised 'numbers, and sold at late rates. The yarding of fat calves was on a par with the markets, and the demand was about the average, little change being recorded. The range of prices was from 4s Gd to £2 17s Gd, extra quality bringing £4. - Store cattle: Yearlings 27s to £1 13s Gd, 15 to IS-months sorts £1 14s to £2 5s Gd, two-year-old steers' £3 2s (id to "-£3 15s Gd, two-year-old heifers £2 17s Gd, two and-three-old steers £4 Is to £4 8s; three-year-old steers £0 Is to £6 ss, three-year-old lieifers £4 lis Gd to £4 12s, dry cows £1 10s to £4 Is, dairy cowl £3 10s, several -at £9 and £9 7s Gd, bests sorts up to £ll ss. Pigs: Choppers realised £3 10s, heavy baeoners 46s to 50s, extra to 555, lighter sorts 38s to 44s (equal to 3y,d to 3%d per lb), large porkers 31s to 3~75, lighter 25s to 30s (equal to 4y g d per lb. Store pigs were in good supply, but the demand was weak. Best sorts made 22s to 275, smaller 14s to 21s, weaners 4s to Ss, the latter -price for extra good pigs only. BURNSIDE. TSnmside Stock Market.—Fat cattle: 287 yarded, including but few heavy bullocks. prices showed very little change from last week, but the sale dragged somewhat towards the finish. Best bullocks £9 10s to £lO, extra to £lO ]ss. medium to good £7 10s to £B. light CG 10s to £7 10s, best cows and heifers £0 10s to £7 10s, extra to £8 7s Gd. medium to good £5 to £6, light and inferior £3 5s to £4 10s.

Fat sheep: 2475 penned, principally old ewes. There were very few Dens of prime wethers, owing to the freezing works refusing stock at present. Freezing buyers were consequently not operating, and prices showed a big decline. Wethers dropped about Is to Is fid per head, and ewes fully 2s. Best wethers 13s Gd to 16s, extra to 17s, medium to good lis fid to 12s fid, best ewes lis fid to 12s Gd, extra, to Ifis 3d, medium to good 9s to lis. light 4s fid to ss. Fat lambs: 14G5 penned. There was no competition, except from butchers and graziers, and price dropped' is to Is Gd per head. Best, 12s to 13s Gd. extra to 14s Gd, medium to good 10s to lis 6d.

Pigs: Fully 200 penned, about threequarters being suckers and slips. Prices showed a decline of about 2s per head for young pigs, and towards the end of the sale it was almost impossible to get a bid. Suckers 3s fid to 5s fid. slips 8s to 10s, stores 12s fid to 15s fid, porkers 22s to 255. light baconers 30s to 355, heavy 40s to 435.
