(From Our Resident Correspondent.) Stratford, April 14. Mr. Ronayne, General Manager of Railways, is expected to arrive in Stratford to-nigliL A deputation from the school committee will wait on hini in regard to obtaining permission for pupils of the school to travel oil the mail, train as' in the past. Mrs. Ashton, who has been on a holiday visit to Nelson, returned to Stratford last night. The Church of Engi'and Sunday School picnic was held at Xgaere to-day. I hear on good authority that .Messrs. 'Levin and Co. are considering the question of establishing a regular steamer service ibetween Wellington and Patea. Messrs'. McMillan and Frederic have commenced their contract of additions and alterations to the local lire brigade station. Miss Braysluiw, who is joining the stall of the Patea Hospital, was presented by the choir of St. Andrews' Church with a hand ■bag and silver-1 mounted hair pin case. Mr. Hugh McLeod, of Tahora, was admitted to the Stratford Hospital yesfterday, suffering from injuries sustained through a fall from a horse.
