At the tallow sales 1'299 casts were offered and 119T sold. Mutton, fine 39s Gd, medium 3(jn (id; beef, fine 38s 3d, medium 365, WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry. At the mart on' Saturday •we had a big entry of poultry and good prices ruled throughout. Hens (old) Is 3d to Is Gd, good young hens Is 8d to 2s, •pullets 2s 5d to 2s Bd, cockerels (young) i)d to'ls Id; good condition Is 6d to 2$ ■2d, pese os' per pair. Tliere is a very good demand for pullets. Fruit.—The fruit market is now very quiet, apples and pears being the only New Zealand fruit coming forward. Heavy consignments of oranges have arrived during the week, but bananas are very scarce. Apples, good dessert, Rome Beauty and Winter Permain, 6s 6d to 7a 6d, cookers 4s to 4s 6d; pears, 241b, 4s to 4s 3d, dessert 8s to 9s 6d 401b; oranges, 8s 6d to 9s 6d; -bananas, green andl coloring, lis to lis 6d; ripe, per lb. Meat.—The usual sale of meat was held on Saturday, the attendance being such as to- justify an extra box being ordered tor future sales. Prices remain about the same, rwell in favor of buyers. Corning pieces, l%d to 2d, rounds 3d to 3y 2 d, roasts 2d to 2y a d, prime ribs 3d to 3y 2 d, sirloins 3y 2 d to 4y 2 d, shins Is; forequarters mutton 3d to 3y 2 d, legs 3 ! /»d to 4y 2 d, loiite 3d to 3y 2 d. NEW PLYMOUTH RETAIL PRICES. Butehens' Meat. Beef: Sirloin 6d, prime- ribs sd, rump steak Bd, beef from 3d to 4d; corned beef from 3d to 5a per lb. Mutton: Legs 6d, chops 6d, loin Gd, shoulders sd, necks' 4d per lb. Pork: Fresh, 6d per lb. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages, beef 4d, pork 6d. Lamb, 4s to 5s a quarter. Fowls, 5s per pair, ducks 6s per pair. These prices are for cash only; y 2 d per lb for booking over one week.
