MORE GAOL BREAKERS.
TWO burglars ESCAPE. ONE CAPTURED. \.. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invoroaryill, Last Night. Two prisoners, Albert Stoekbridge, aged 22, serving eighteen months for breaking into the Carterton railway station," and Joseph Howie, aged 18, serving twelve months, one of a hand committed fifteen burglaries in Wellington and who was arrested at Happy Valley with a revolver in his possession, escaped from the gaol gang at 3 o'clock this afternoon. After an exciting chase Howie was captured five miles out bv Gaoler Hawkins. Stoekhridge gained the shelter of the hush near the racecourse, and darkness cut the pursuit short.
