STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS. The annual balance sheet of the Tarauaki Agricultural Society, to be presented to the annual meeting on Monday evening next, is now in circulation. The statement includes the whole of the transactions up to the end of January, jthe close of the financial year, and does jnot represent the position of the Society to-day. particularly in regard to the amount received in members' sub- | scriptions, the position of which has considerably improved. Up to the end of January, members' subscriptions were worth £335 2s. Donations irere received valued at £B9 15s Cd, and entries brought in £lB2 15s 6d. Gates and grandstand takings amounted to £lB3 7s 2d, proceeds of catalogue sales £2l da,, booth permits £3O, and spaces sold on the show grounds £ls 10s. The expenditure totalled £948 18s lOd, which included a debit balance of j £144, 10s lOd brought forward from the previous year. At the date of the balance-! sheet this had been reduced to £29 5a sd. The principal items of expenditure were: Prize money £391 19s, wages' £35 ss, printing £72 12s 4d, advertising £24 12s 3d, medals £2l ISs, luncheon £l6 2s, secretary's salary and commission £122, bank interest and charge £LI 14s, show expenses £l9 15s'. The liabilities were: Amount owing £35. Assets: By six sections in St. Germain's Snuare, £1500; value of yards, etc. (10 per cent, written off for depreciation), £2lO 6s 7d. Assets exceed liabilities by £1646 IS 2d.
