£117,000 TO BE SPENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. An expenditure of £60,000 on new rolling stock for the railways was authorised by Cabinet to-day; also £BOOO for new machinery in the railway workshops.

A tender was accepted for the electrification of portions of the machinery at the Addington workshops. Orders were approved for the purchase of military equipment to the ex« tent of £49,000!
