WAREHOUSEMEN v. EG MONT
VILLAGE,
The above match was played on the Recreation Sports Ground on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Warehouses bp 05 runs on the first innings. On a previous Saturday Warehouses had made 102 runs, and as the light was then too bad for further play, Egmont Village agreed to come' in again and finish the match. O'Byrne and R. Marsh took strike for Egmont Village against the bowling of Williams and McLaren. The first six wickets fell for 39, O'Byrne •being the ofily batsman to make any headway. J. Gibson joined his skipper, and these two took the score to 82 before O'Byrne was caught by White off Williams. The rest of tlie batsmen did not_ trouble the howlers much, and the innings closed for 97 runs. O'Byrne batted splendidly for his score, and was very severe on anything loose on the off. J. Gibson, the veteran of the team and also of Taranaki cricket, batted nicely for his runs, his driving being a feature of the day's play. Scores:—
