A NOVEL PROPOSAL.

A novel proposal made at a meeting of the Seaham Miners' Lodge, Newcastle. for the purpose of effecting the release of labor leaders is contained in •the following notice of motion: -"We, 'members of the Federation, find that the severe mental strain incurred through the imprisonment of our leaders, along with the arduous nature of our work, is having the effect of making us physically incapable of performing the work; therefore it be resolved that in order to safeguard our hearth .we do not produce more than n cettain amount of coal per day until the release of our leaders."
The "originator nf the notice said all knew they had to work, but he proposed that no man should do mure than Sufficient to earn fair strike pay.
