Sir George Reid (Commonwealth High Commissioner) and the Hon. N. Moore (Premier of West Australia) are the guests of the Glasgow Corporation. Sir George Reid said that what Australia asked was that Britain's children should go, not to foreign lands, but to develop the % Empire. Mr. Moore addressed a large meeting of intending emigrants.
The Commonwealth gunboat Ynrra was successfully launched on the Clyde, 'and Mr*. Moore at the christening said: "Your name signifies 'running water.' your movements ever be swift, hastening the protection of our land when danger threatens."
