COUNTESS OF RANFURLY

WRECKED OFF NEW CALEDONIA. By Cable.—Press Association.—Cop/right Received April 6, 0.30 a.m. t Sydney, Last Night. The steamer Countess of Ranfurly, engaged in the New Hebrides trade, was en route to Vila when the disaster occurred on the south coast of New Caledonia. As the agents' advices simply announce the wreck without mentioning the crew, it is inferred that the latter are safe. The schooner had a general cargo, which was insured for £ISOO. The hull is insured for £2500. Both insurances are in the United Insurance Company.
