Welch's supporters believed that this man's knowledge of the harbour and skill as a waterman will serve hint in good stead. The race k timed to start at 2 p.m., but may be postponed if the water is notsnitable. Thero is a great deal of betting. Arnst is favourite at 2 to 1. Akaron is Tilling rapidly with visitors'.
