MR P. HEYES
SIR JOSEPH WARD'S STATEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Associate Wellington, Tuesday. Sir J. G. Ward made a further statement concerning Mr. Heycs, Land Tax Commissioner and Valuer-General. Mr. Richardson, he said, had only completed his examination upon the complaints last week. The Government at the »amc time received a report from Mr. Heyes, but neither his statement nor those taken by Mr. Richardson had be«n made on oath. Mr. Heyes had contradicted most of the allegations against him. Mr. ITeve's would be examined on oath and all complaints be reported upon before the Government would decide. BOARD OF EXQUTRY TO SIT.
