ANOTHER AUCKLAND TRAM FATALITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. A young man riding a bicycle in Khyber Pass road endeavored to cross the tramline in l'.ont of a car. He was struck by th; car and carried along some distance, Prompt assistance was I rendered, but liie was found to 'oe extinct. , So far deceased has not been identified. Auckland, Last Night. The victim of the train-bicycle fatality is a young man named Brindley, a resi- | dent of East Tainaki. PEA RIFLE FATALITY. 1 Dunedin, Tuesday. An inquest on the body of Geoffrey Fisher, who died' in the hospital yesterday morning from the effects of a wound in the groin, sustained as a result of a pea Yifie accident at Middlemarch, opened last night. Geoffrey Fisher, father of deceased, gave evidence that deceased and two boys named McCorkindale and Mcßantney were in company when the accident happened. Deceased loaded the rifle, and shortly afterwards McCorkindale picked it up. As he lifted it. the hammer slipped and the rifle went off. the bullet lc.lging in deceased's groin. The inquest >vas adjourned till Wednesday evening. ■ The hoys McCorkindale and M'Bantnev have been brought before the Court at Middlemarch on a charge of being in possession of firearm's while under the age of sixteen rears. The hovs were severely admonished and ordered to pay costs and the firearm confiscated. An adult, who gave a rifle to Mcßantney abirat a year ago. would also have been prosecuted but for the fact that tile time limit, for laving ail information has expired. TTTE PF.A PJITX—ANOTHER CARE. His jon was loading a nei rifle, which went off. the 'bullet lodging in Hewson's baefc. Thfi iniured man was brought to fits hosnital to-night, and an effort will be made to locate the bullet.
