Barger's sub-surface torpedo, ■which is immune from small gun fire. It costs £4500, the weight is six ton's, the length 46 feet, and carries a 10001b charge of guneotton. Two men, stationed in the conning tower amidships, can steer close to opposing battleships, take aim and desert the torpedoer 'by means of lifeboats or lifebelts.
