ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
THE DEADLY PEA RIFLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Geoffrey Fisher, aged fourteen, who was shot in the groin by a pea rifle some days ago, died in the hospital this morning. COLLISION IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, Last Night. A collision Cook place in the Kent Terrace to-night between a tram-car and an express driven by William Frank Bignell, a carrier. Bignell had his skull fractured, and is now lying unconscious in the 'hoeipital.
THE FOXTON- .MYSTERY. Palmerston North, Saturday. The body found on Foxton Beach yesterday proves to be that' of a man about sft Bin. in height and between fifty and sixty years of age. He was slightly bald with reddish whiskers, turning grey, and apparently a working man of seafaring appearance. He was) fully dressed, but wearing slippers. A handkerchief was discovered in the pocket of the clothes with the name T. Hantson on the corner. The body had apparently been in the water about seven days when discovered. Its appearance and the fact that he was wearing slippers suggests that the victim may have been a sailor who had fallen ovefboard off some passing vessel, alsuch loss has' been reported. A WOMAN'S DEATH. Dunedin, Saturday. Jennie .M'Coll, aged thirty, died yesterday morning at a house at Mornington occupied .by Mrs. Durstan. She went there on March 15, and died alter giving birth to two children. An inquest was formally opened and adjourned fo Friday.
